Major system components in VIAssist
- Desktop Client A Microsoft .NET desktop client with a locally managed dataset used for high performance visualization
- Network Data Warehouse An extremely fast, scalable relational database engine, Sybase IQ, manages the VIAssist data repository. The VIAssist repository can respond to queries rapidly even when terabytes of network data are involved.
- User-Selected Data Sources VIAssist users select external data sources and move them to a staging area before loading them into the VIAssist repository.
- Expression Builder VIAssist includes an easy to use GUI to transparently create the where clause of a SQL statement.
- Smart Aggregator VIAssist intelligently aggregates data into a smaller dataset containing clusters of data of the same value, thus improving performance.
- Report Designer VIAssist incorporates a Report Designer to communicate analyst findings from data visualization to co-workers, managers or others.
